Handmade in Small Batches
Moonflower Polish is an indie brand, which means it's a small independent business. In this case, ran by me, from my home. I buy the ingredients and mix pigments and nail polish base to create the polish. I also handle social media, shipping, and customer service. Just me. That means your order might take longer to ship, but it's cause each bottle is lovingly handcrafted for you.
Orders ship via USPS First Class or Priority depending on the package weight.
shipping - send me an email so I can give you a quote and add your country to the shipping options menu before you place an order. Right now, I've shipped to Canada and Germany.
Local Pickup - If you live in Central Florida and would like to save on shipping, send me an email!
Normal turn around time is 3-5 business days. I make the polishes in small batches, so I only have limited stock on hand. This ensures that I can provide the highest quality polish I can make, since each batch is carefully handcrafted. However, it does mean that you might have to wait a bit longer to receive them. Pre-orders or special sales might take up to 2 weeks to ship.
I got a shipping email! Does that mean you actually shipped them or do you print the shipping labels ahead of time?
If you got a shipping email, then it means I printed your label and stuck it to your package, which means I'll drop it off at the Post Office that same day or next.
I haven't gotten a shipping email, and it's been more than 2 weeks!
Big Cartel doesn't send out any shipping confirmation emails, instead, you'll receive an email from PayPal so it'll go to whatever account you use for that, so check that first. If your order wasn't part of a pre-order or special sale, then email me so I can verify the status.
Returns and Refunds
I can't accept any returns or refunds except on a case by case basis. Email me (email@example.com) within 3 days of receiving your order in case you have a problem.
I have to collect 7% tax from any Florida residents.
My polishes are 5 free, they generally contain the following ingredients. Butyl Acetate, Ethyl Acetate, Nitrocellulose , Acetyl Tributyl Citrate, Isobutyl Acetate, Isopropyl Alcohol, Adipic Acid / Neopentyl Glycol / Trimellitic Anhydride Copolymer, Silica, Styrene / Acrylates Copolymer, N-Butyl Alcohol, Benzophenone-1, D&C Violet #2. May also contain: Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Iron Oxide, Tin Oxides, Chromium Oxide Green, Ultramarines, Ferric Ferrocyanide, D&C Lakes (Black 2, Red 6, Red 7, Red 30, Red 34, Yellow 10), FD&C Lakes (Red 40, Yellow 5, Yellow 6), Spectraflair.
Are your polishes vegan and cruelty free?
Yes for the most part. It's not something I advertise since there could always be a pigment that contains carmine, making it not vegan, but I always try my hardest not to use animal based products. Currently the polishes are all carmine free and vegan. They are 100% cruelty free as neither I nor my suppliers test their products on animals.
Your polish stained my stamper/mat!
My polishes are highly pigmented. This means that they might stain and will be thicker than regular polish. So far, Amarillo and Anaranjado have been the most common stainers. Take extra care when using those colors.
The polishes look weird and funky in the bottle! There's some white stuff sticking to the sides/bottom of the bottles, what is it? Are they ruined?
Because they don't have the ingredients that are typically used to help the pigments stay mixed up well together in the bottle, 5 free polishes tend to commonly have some separation of pigments. That's why two stainless steel mixing balls are included in every bottle! Just give them a gentle shake to mix everything back up.
Sometimes the white pigment used to make creme polishes can settle in the bottom or stick to the sides of the bottles. We call that "Ugly Bottle Syndrome" or UBS. If your bottles have UBS, it shouldn't affect the color inside or it's ability to stamp. I try my hardest to make sure that doesn't happen, but some colors simply use more of that white pigment than others and it's not out of the realm of possibility.
Do you smoke or have pets? I have allergies to x ingredient... or other special concerns.
Polishes are mixed and packaged in a smoke free, dog friendly home. He's a tiny Yorkie that doesn't shed so there shouldn't be any dog hair in your package.
If you're allergic to anything like nuts or pet dander and are concerned about cross contamination, email me so I can be sure to take the extra precautions when mixing, bottling, and packaging your order.
Can you make me a custom polish?
Custom made polishes start at $10, email me for more info.
My blogger/swatcher team is currently full but you're welcome to fill out the application as I periodically check it when in need of extra bloggers or swatchers.
